Vermont Coronavirus (COVID-19) Vaccinations
COVID-19 Vaccination Scheduling at Kinney Drugs in Vermont
Currently, the State of Vermont allows Kinney Drugs Pharmacists to administer COVID-19 vaccines to the following:
Vermont residents age 30+
K-12 teachers and onsite staff
child care workers
expanded public safety personnel
BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and people of color) Vermonters and their household members
people 16+ with certain high-risk health conditions outlined below:
Chronic kidney disease
COPD, including emphysema and chronic bronchitis
Heart disease, including heart attack, heart failure, congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease (angina, acute and chronic ischemic heart disease), cardiomyopathies, and pulmonary hypertension. Does NOT include high blood pressure.
Immunocompromised (weakened immune system), due to solid organ transplant, blood, or bone marrow transplant, immune deficiencies, or other causes; or HIV with a low CD4 cell count or not on HIV treatment; prolonged use of corticosteroids or other immune suppressing drugs.
Severe obesity (BMI of 40 or above)
Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes
Disabilities including chromosomal disorders, such as Down syndrome; intellectual disabilities (IQ of 70 or below); disabilities that compromise lung function (neurologic and muscular conditions such as muscular dystrophy, spina bifida, cystic fibrosis, and multiple sclerosis).
Sickle cell disease
- parent of a child under the age of 16 with a high-risk condition
COVID-19 Vaccinations are BY ONLINE APPOINTMENT ONLY. You do NOT need to preregister on the Vermont Department of Health website to schedule an appointment at Kinney Drugs.
Before moving forward, please have your Driver License and insurance cards in hand to prevent delays in the scheduling process. This includes your "red, white & blue" Medicare Part B card and any prescription insurance cards. If you do not have your Medicare card or ID number, please call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) to obtain it.
K-12 teachers and onsite staff, child care workers, and expanded public safety personnel: Please be prepared to show proof of eligibility such as a pay stub, ID badge, or letter from employer.
PLEASE NOTE: The Moderna vaccine can be administered to those aged 18+, while the Pfizer vaccine can be administered to those aged 16+.

What if I need to change or reschedule my appointment?
Please CLICK THE LINK in your CONFIRMATION EMAIL to reschedule an existing appointment. If you need to change the LOCATION of your existing vaccination appointment, you MUST CANCEL your existing appointment and make a NEW appointment at the desired location.
Which COVID-19 vaccines are being administered in Vermont?
The State of Vermont is distributing BOTH the Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine and the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine. Each Kinney Drugs location in Vermont has been provided ONLY ONE of the vaccines as dictated by the State. Upon scheduling your appointment, more information will be provided about the vaccine being administered at your chosen location. Will there be a cost for the COVID-19 vaccine?
There will be NO out-of-pocket cost to patients for the COVID-19 vaccines.
